Bob Vylan Gets US Visas Revoked and Is Facing Criminal Probe

The fallout from the incendiary Glastonbury performance and on onstage anti-military chant is being examined further by UK authorities.

In the wake of Bob Vylan's inflammatory set at Glastonbury over the weekend, the band has since had their US Visa revoked. The move comes as a result of the band leading an onstage chant of "death to the IDF".

In a post to X from Us Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, the move was a result of the band's "hateful tirade at Glastonbury". Landau puncutated his statement by saying, "Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country."

During Vylan's set, the duo called for the crowd to chant "Free Palestine" and also had a stage display that read, “United Nations have called it a genocide. The BBC calls it a ‘conflict.'"

The BBC broadcasted the event.

In a statement shared on June 30th following the set, the BBC expressed concern with the statements made by Vylan and shared they should have pulled the set fron the broadcast. The BBC maintained it, “respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence.”

As a result, UK authorities are now further probing the incident to see if any criminal charges should be filed. British police are currently reviewing the footage to see if any additional action is required. In a report filed by the BBC themselves, Avon and Somerset Police issued the following statement confirming, "This has been recorded as a public order incident at this time while our enquiries are at an early stage."

In a statement shared to his social media in response to the fallout, Vylan maintained his stance and further clarified the intentions of his onstage banter. "Regardless of how it was said, calling for an end to the slaughter of innocents is never wrong. To civilians of Israel, understand this anger is not directed at you, and don't let your government persuade you that a call against an army is a call against the people"

Bob Vylan was scheduled to tour North America this fall.
