Calva Louise Announce New Full Length Studio Album, 'Edge of the Abyss'

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

Watch frontwoman and multi-talented mastermind Jess Allanic soar on the newest single, "Aimless".

Following the successful launch of the narrative prequel "W.T.F" to the immersive entries of "La Corriente" and "Under The Skin", international tour de force Calva Louise continues to build their ever-expanding musical universe with the announcement of their new full length studio album, Edge of the Abyss

Crafting a world that explores interdimensional travel, altered reality and parallel existence, Edge of the Abyss showcases the artistic breadth and the imaginative vision of Calva Louise architect, Jess Allanic. Functioning as the creative director, helming the band's cinematic visual component, along with crafting the band's epic soundtrack, Allanic asserts a unique prowess that positions Calva Louise in a lane all their own.

Heralding the band's next full length presentation, "Aimless" unveils another chapter of Calva Louise's pending opus. Coupled with a stunning new visual directed, edited and with visual effects from Allanic, the track offers indisputable proof of the band's breadth with a clip that dazzles visually, while dominating sonically.

"The song deals with the fragility of our beliefs but at the same time with the importance of knowing our true essence and standing up for it," Calva Louise's Jess Allanic says.

As for the full length release due out July 11th via Mascot Records, the album's simplistic message speaks to the origin story of Allanic as a driven, creative force. Emigrating from Venezuela to France as a teenager to pursue her musical passion, chance and circumstance would lead Allanic to cross paths with  Alizon Taho. The two would travel from France to play shows in the UK with nothing more than a sincere want to explore their creagive kinship. Eventually meeting with drummer and New Zealand export Ben Parker who was on a similar exploratory journey, the band's foundation was solidified and has since, never looked back.

"Our album is called Edge of the Abyss because that's how we live. One misstep and everything could fall apart," Allanic says. "I emigrated twice, so I've already had a culture shock twice. This hurts a little less because this is where I want to be. I have nowhere to go back to," she finishes.

The band's independently release 2023 LP, Over the Threshold garnered widespread acclaim and positioned Calva Louise as one of heavy music's most exciting, ambitious purveyors. On Edge of the Abyss, Calva Louise further asserts their rank and aims to increase their reach as cultural contributors that intend to challenge heavy music's status quo.

"Our willpower never dies, that's the thing. It's been hard learning every day, but look at the friendship we have. We say that it's like the path of the warrior," Allanic punctuates.

Edge of the Abyss arrives July 111th via Mascot Records. Catch the band currently on tour supporting Bloodywood on the Return of the Singh EU/UK Tour. Remaining dates and cities can be found - HERE
