FIrebrand Calva Louise has delivered a third entry, augmenting the cinematic universe created with previous singles, "La Corriente" and "Under the Skin".
Featuring the band's own Jessica Allanic at the directorial helm once again, "WTF" further delves into the plotline of altered reality and impeding doom as the protagonist, Louise, is introduced and woven into a complex tale of double identity and the danger of worlds colliding.
Allanic elaborated on the narrative that drives the saga and how "WTF" offer a crucial chapter in the tale. "'WTF' is about that feeling of powerlessness that occurs when we are in situations beyond our control. Even being stoic or positive is not enough to withstand and face the challenges thrown at us, but at the same time, we don't want to completely give up. The song deals with that limbo of falling apart while not wanting to succumb to nihilism. It's an angry cry at whatever forces are listening, asking: 'WTF am I meant to do?''
In addition to taking on the directing, editing and the VFX for the project, Allanic proves to be a creative tour de force, also serving as producer on the track.
The arrival of the latest entry in the Calva Louise cinematic saga heralds the news of band's upcoming supporting run, playing direct support to Indian powerhouse Bloodywood on the band's Return of the Singh EU/UK tour. The trek kicks off in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 21st, and includes stops in Norway, Sweden, Poland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and France.
