Hardcore lifers Comeback Kid continue the rollout of a major career milestone. While is band is gearing up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2004 release of their lauded album, Wake the Dead, with a monthlong trek set to kick off next month, the band has now revisited an anthem from their enduring catalog. 

Rather than remastering the original version of the song, Comeback Kid has re-recorded the title track from Wake the Dead, debuting a refreshed version of the song that offers a look back on their two decade tenure and takes it back to where it all started. Trusting venerated the final mix to venerated producer Will Putney, the end result is one that underscores the track's shelf life and Comeback Kid's continued durability. 

"The title track of our album Wake The Dead, which that we released two decades ago, provided us with more opportunities and brought us to more places around the world than we could have ever imagined," recalls frontman Andrew Neufeld. "The song lands as the biggest moment in every single set that we've played — from Asia through South America to Europe, Africa, and North America."

Neufeld continued, "We wrote and recorded the song while I was still playing guitar in the band. After 19 years of being the vocalist, and singing the song every night, we would like to celebrate and commemorate a song that gave us wings that we never knew existed by re-recording it with our current lineup and with a fresh mix provided by Will Putney."

The frontman also detailed the intended release of the track, a paired B-side and the variants for the collectors chomping at the bit. "We will be releasing the single alongside an unreleased B-side from the original 2005 Wake The Dead recording sessions on 7", along with a number of variations of the full length re-pressed with new packaging!"

The Wake the Dead 20th Anniversary Tour is set to kick off later this month and will  feature a performance of Wake the Dead in full. The trek also touts an impressive supporting roster. Among the artists enlisted to join the caravan, Cancer Bats, Orthodox, Defeater, KOYO and Desmadre will all take on select dates on the tour.
