Last month, extreme metal pillars Cradle of Filth announced the arrival of their 14th studio album, The Screaming Of The Valkyries, due out March 21st 2025 via Napalm Records. The album marks the eagerly-awaited follow-up to 2021’s celebrated full length, Existence Is Futile and further cements Dani Filth as an icon in the space.
Along with the news of the pending album release, Cradle of Filth debuted the first preview from the project with the single, "To Live Deliciously". Anchored by the venomous vocal prowess of Dani Filth along with the tandem guitar attack of Marek "Ashok" Smerda and Donny Burbage, the single ushers in a new era of dominance from CoF, one that harnesses the band's well-established history, while boldly moving forward as contemporaries.
Following the initial release, Cradle of Filth now debuts the haunting new music video to accompany the sonic devastation of "To Live Deliciously". Dani Filth spoke of the latest submission. "An observation on religious restraint as well as being a window to tout a bit of blasphemous filth, the video for 'To Live Deliciously' (our second from the new album) is a pleasant social engagement betwixt a pious young nun and her mentor priest. Just with a smattering of demonic possession and sexual misconduct added for good stock."
Filth previously explained the lyrical inspiration of the track, "The song is about the celebration of life. Of indulging in everything unfettered from the conformities of religion, fashion or state. Free from guilt or constraint. As nature intended.
It could be read as a hedonistic life code. And a positive one if not done at the expense or the suffering of others. To delight in simply 'being.' Being alive and free in the here and now."
The Screaming of the Valkyries was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England. The album further builds on the band's vast catalog that meld grandiose theatrics, stylized macabre and metallic brutality that has gone onto inspire legions of artists and a devoted global base of fanatics.
In support of the band's latest studio effort, Cradle of Filth will co-headline the 2025 edition of the North American Chaos & Carnage tour opposite Dying Fetus, along with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Ne Obliviscaris, Undeath, Vomit Forth, and Corpse Pile. The tour is set to kick off less than a month after the band's release of The Screaming of the Valkyries. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below. Get tickets - HERE
