Regarded as one of the most immersive and imaginative rock albums of 2023, Creeper's Sanguivore was hailed as a operatic rock saga that stylized the macabre into a vampiric love story for the ages.
Bookending each era of Creeper with a definitive, culminating performance that completes the story arch, William Gould and his band of cohorts have marked their return - only this time, teasing a sequel adding to the breadth of Sanguivore saga.
Introducing a new character in the arch with the Mistress of Death, unveiled as part of a horror film included in the production of the band's recent sold out KoKo set, Creeper have set the wheels in motion for a continuation of Sanguivore with the latest single, "HEADSTONES".
A stylistic amalgam of horror punk and charging riffs, "HEADSTONES" fuses heavy metal execution with grandiose gospel choir spectacle on a single that makes for a resounding, emphatic introduction.
Creeper architect William Gould shared of the single, “Headstones” is the first glimpse into Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death. Set in a blood-drenched vision of the 1980s, it follows a vampire rock band on a tour soaked in violence and excess."
Gould added, "It features some of our heaviest and most theatrical guitar work yet, echoing Iron Maiden, with Lawrie Pattison and Ian Miles trading solos in the bridge. It’s also the fastest single we’ve released in years. Lyrically, it sets the stage for what’s to come in the album’s narrative, exploring the dark perils of rock ’n’ roll, sins of the flesh, and pure evil. This is the band at its most over-the-top and unashamedly dramatic. But as our hero Jim Steinman once said, 'Sometimes going all the way is just the start.'"
In addition to the start of Creeper's latest iteration, the band will set out on a succession of live dates across Europe including festival performances at Rock Am Ring, Graspop, Jera on Air and Bloodstock to list a few. Additionally, Creeper will be featured as special guests for Ice Nine Kills' A Work of Art European arena tour later this year. A list of dates and cities can be found - HERE
