Crystal Lake Unleashes Hostile New Track ’Crossing Nails’

Crystal Lake Unleashes Hostile New Track, "Crossing Nails"

The latest single also confirms the January 2026 arrival of the band's Century Media Records full length debut.

Japanese metalcore vets Crystal Lake have issued their second single since breaking news last year of their signing to Century Media Records. "Crossing Nails" asserts the band's nu-metal grit with a hostile track that strikes with serious intention. The single follows the release of their introduction on the new label in "BluGod" featuring Taylor Barber of Left to Suffer.

The release of "Crossing Nails" not serves as the band's first release of 2025, but also points to their pending full length debut via Century Media, which the band has confirmed will land January 2026. The yet-to-be-named full length serves as the band's first since 2019's Helix

Speaking on the newest single, Crystal Lake vocalist John Robert Centorrino (formerly of The Last Ten Seconds of Life) offered some insight to the angst that fuels the track. "I have a very love//hate relationship with God and the church. Growing up in a super religious household + going to 2 Catholic schools – I saw first-hand how they use God as a weapon of control. I needed people to be there for me. To save me from myself. To love me, and they were never there. They made me fear & hate something I should have loved. Fear is not love. Hate is not power. Control is not faith. Believe in YOURSELF. Love YOURSELF. Control YOURSELF. Faith is not a weapon - it's peace. Crossing Nails”

Crystal Lake guitarist YD expanded on the importance of the new track, preserving the sound core to the band while evolving as songwriters. "With this track, we’ve kept the heaviness that’s always been core to our sound, but brought the straight, speedy riff work to the forefront and wrapped the whole song in a more catchy structure. We also experimented with rhythmic and groove elements that haven’t really appeared in CRYSTAL LAKE’s music before, allowing us to explore a new kind of expression. By blending parts of my personal musical background into the song in a playful way, I think we managed to mix that classic hardcore and metal vibe in a fresh and exciting form."

Crystal Lake continues on their European headlining tour. The band is currently out with Angelmaker for a stretch of shows through the month of August. See a list of dates and cities below. Stay tuned for updates from Crystal Lake and the new album announcement.
