Dance Gavin Dance Drop Frenzied New Track, "All the Way Down"

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

The single lands as the band kick off their Return of the Robot Tour with The Home Team, Belmont, and Dwellings.

Earlier this month, rock heavy shapeshifters Dance Gavin Dance announced their brand new album due out September 12th. Following the praise of 2022's Jackpot Juicer, an entry that climbed all the way to #8 on the Billboard Top 200, DGD  announced Pantheon as their first offering of new music in three years.

Aligned with the band's signature of pop-infused aggression, musical unpredictability and explosive studio performance, Pantheon touts a kind of virtuosity that levels up DGD's brand with a controlled chaos that shapes cacophony to symphony. Bolstered by a special guest assist on the album from legendary funk pioneer George Clinton, Dance Gavin Dance continue to keep fans on their toes.

The announcement of Pantheon also marked a pivotal moment for the beloved band. The album will serve as the first to feature newly christened vocalists Andrew Wells, who first made his introduction last year when DGD dropped “Speed Demon” and “Straight From the Heart.”

Presenting another preview from the album, Dance Gavin Dance have delivered the dynamic single, "All the Way Down." Defined by frenetic guitars, fiery percussion and an powerful vocal pairing in Wells and Jon Mess, the track underscores the band's creative vigor and innovative approach to theatric rock music.

Mess shared of the single, “This song doubles down and follows up on the last 10 nine lives we dropped, can’t seem to let go of the little things in this big world, it’s nothing more than sensational!”

Wells elaborated a bit more on the urgency that fuels the track. “In a world of modernity plagued by information overload, hearsay, and conspiracy; how far down does the rabbit hole go? All the way down.

"All the Way Down" follows the lead single from the effort with the headtrip, "Midnight at McGuffy's". Big choruses, on-a-dime tempo shifts and massive finale make for a memorable first go and a promising start to the band's 11th full length cycle.

Wells would go onto offer some added insight on the record overall. I think Pantheon is a testament to perseverance and the gratitude that we feel today,” Wells adds. “Being able to overcome everything that life hits you with, find your people – the people that you trust, people that you love, people that love you – and create art with them, whatever chaos the world has in store for you. It’s about getting through the hardest times, getting back to basics, and making something that you love.”

Dance Gavin Dance kicks off their headlining Return Of The Robot Tour tonight (May 22nd). The tour also includes the Chicago edition of the 4th annual Swanfest, with special guests Glassjaw, Animals As Leaders, The Fall Of Troy, Kurt Travis, and Return Of the Robot running mates The Home Team, Belmont, and Dwellings.
