Few bands remain as beloved as metalcore forefathers, Deadguy. The Jersey-bred outfit released their definitive debut, Fixation On A Co-Worker and instantly solidified their rank as one of the genre's most influential collectives, despite a less than prolific output.
While circumstance would inevitably force the band into an indefinite hiatus, Deadguy's concise lifespan of just three impactful years would fruit a pair of EPs in White Meat and Work Ethic and their lone full length album that would go onto become the stuff of metalcore lore.
In 2021, the documentary film Killing Time would serve to galvanize the unit once more, revisiting the kind of durable legacy the band was able to establish in just a short amount of active time. Subsequent shows would follow as the band reconvened. Understanding that the creative chemistry was still especially potent, Deadguy wanted something more than nostalgia, they were after something new.
According to drummer Dave Rosenberg, Deadguy would overcome distance, time and expectation to write their first new record in more than three decades. Driven entirely “out of sheer force of will” Rosenberg along with Fixation On A Co-Worker collaborator Steve Evetts corralled 11-tracks on what would become Near-Death Travel Services, the sophomore album more than thirty years in the making.
The album is set to land June 27th via Relapse Records and is previewed by the explosive first single, "Kill Fee". Showcasing the band's unconventional rhythms, volatile vocals and frenetic guitars, the single marks an impressive return to form - suggesting three decades left no rust.
