Serving as North America's only monthly metal music magazine, Decibel Magazine is hosting a special hometown celebration to commemorate their 20th anniversary. Decibel's 20th Anniversary Show is set for August 31st at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia and will feature a cripplingly-heavy roster of artists - some of which are marking important firsts themselves in whaty is shaping up to be a historic weekend.
Earning top billing for the occasion, California extreme OGs Autopsy will function as the anniversary show headliners. What makes the set especially significant is the performance will be the band's Philly debut - even after four decades in the game. Bolstering the event, New York's death metal vets Immolation will also be joining the festivities with a special "First 20 Years" set in honor of Decibel's run.
Completing the trifecta atop the billing, Horrendous will be marking the tenth anniversary of their celebrated full length, Ecdysis with a focused set designed just for this event.
"We are proud to reveal an event that feels as momentous as our 20th anniversary itself,"says Decibel founder and editor in chief Albert Mudrian. "We're eager to party in our hometown with some of our oldest and dearest friends. And, no, you're not on the guest list."
Rounding out the line up, doom unit Crypt Sermon will perform their new full length, The Stygian Rose, in its entirety. Domestic black metal horde Krieg along with old school brutalizers Deathevokation will submit highlight sets with Philly own gutsy grunge practitioners Rid of Me kicking off the evening.
"Autopsy is revved up, bloodthirsty and ready to bring 100% horrific Death Metal to Decibel's 20th anniversary bash in Philadelphia," says drummer/vocalist Chris Reifert. "Come on out and go insane with us!"
Tickets are set to go on sale May 10th at 10am local time. See the complete line-up below.
