Pooling some of the biggest names in music across, rock, pop, hip hop, country and beyond, the 2026 American Music Awards have published this comprehensive list of nominees. While the core categories are dominated with superstars like Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar. Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter and Bad Bunny, the world of rock is receiving some love.
In the 'Best Rock/Alternative Artist' category, Deftones have been recognized for their most recent triumph, Private Music. Linkin Park is also in the running for their From Zero campaign with Sleep Token also breaking through for their Even In Arcadia presentation. The category is rounded out by dreampop sensation The Marias and arena rock/pop heroes Twenty-One Pilots.
Additional standouts in the rock space include SOMBR earning a nod four times for 'Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist,' 'Best Rock/ Alternative Song' for "back to friends" 'Best Rock/ Alternative Album' for I Barely Know Her as well as 'Breakout Tour'. Sleep Token scored big with added nominations for both 'Best Rock/Alternative album ' for Even In Arcadia as well as 'Breakout Tour' for what was the band's first North American arena tour.
