En route to the November 7th release of their new album via Epitaph, ...Is Your Friend, California hardcore specialists DRAIN have proven why they are a one of one in the space. 

Following the release of impactful singles in "Nights Like These" and the tribute to drummer Tim Flegal and his ongoing battle with cancer in "Stealing Happiness From Tomorrow," the Santa Cruz hardcore unit hit different with "Who's Having Fun?"

Among the obvious takeaways from the track features frontman and master of ceremonies Sammy Ciaramitaro showcasing a more finessed vocal style. As for the guitars, Cody Chavez flexes his metal pedigree in the form of epic divebombs and a face-melting solo not typical in hardcore. 

Ciaramitaro offered some context to the track, “‘Who's Having Fun?’ is summertime music written to be played really loud in the car with your friends and the windows down on a beautiful sunny day. It's what happens when you just write music that makes you feel happy and don't really care about fitting into a box or meeting someone else's genre criteria.”

The frontman continued, “Drain is gonna do whatever the hell we want. This was the first song that we wrote for this album — it started out as a pretty barebones punk-rock song, but we kept adding little moments and flare and all the sudden we turned it into a badass song that truly encapsulates everything that Drain is.”

leading into the November 7th release of ...IS YOUR FRIEND, DRAIN will be spending the next few months on the road with a series of live dates, including highly-touted appearances at The Vans Warped Tour, Louder than Life Festival in Louisville, the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, Furnace Fest in Alabama as well as a support spot under Kublai Khan alongside Gideon and Guilt Trip.
