Billed as a day of peace, love, justice and music, rock music dignitary Tom Morello has unveiled his carefully curated People to the People Festival. Set to take place Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on October 3rd, the intent of the event is to emphasize community and solidarity through music, art and culture.
Functioning as performer and curator, Tom Morello will take the stage at Power to the People along with featured sets from Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Jack Black, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Serj Tankian and none other than the Boss himself, Bruce Spingsteen.
The festival billed as "a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music" will also feature performances by Brittany Howard, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless, The Linda Lindas, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Grandons and even a DJ set from OBEY founder, Shepard Fairey.
Speaking of the announcement, Morello shared, “The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll. It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”
