Earlier this summer, scene pillars From First to Last announced their signing to Fearless Records. The news of the revitalized post-hardcore collective also gained momentum with word of Lil Lotus taking on vocal duties for the band. Rounded out by veteran guitarists Travis Richter and Matt Good along with founding bassist Matt Manning and I Set My Friends on Fire drummer Chris Lent, the reconfigured unit was well in motion.
Punctuating their return, From First to Last have announced the October 2nd arrival of their Fearless Records debut EP, We Were Bleeding Anyway. A cohesive collection of songs that deliver on the post-hardcore posture that made the band so beloved, the tracks also showcase evolved songwriting that advances FFTL beyond nostalgia and into something contemporary.
To begin the rollout towards release day, "They Said Your Ghost Was a Promise" arrives packed with all that early 2000s angst, coupled with big hooks, effective catchiness and punchy dynamics suggesting the current line-up have truly found their stride.
"'They Said Your Ghost Was a Promise' is a really special song," the band says. "It tackles the subject of loss of a loved one, and we hope it can resonate with others dealing with the same."
The release of the "They Said Your Ghost Was a Promise" follows the unit's reintroduction earlier this summer with the emotive "Your Name In Red Ink" which reignited excitement surrounding the band's next move.
