Genghis Tron Unload Frenetic New Single, "Born Prey"

The band's first new album in five years, Signal Fire, arrives next month via Relapse Records.

Last month, genre blurring progressives Genghis Tron announced their long-awaited return with the confirmation of their first full length studio album since 2021's Dream Weapon. Teaming with producer Seth Manchester, the co-produced effort, Signal Fire, marks the newest presentation from the current iteration of Genghis Tron.

The current configuration is led by Hamilton Jordan and Michael Sochynsky, with Tony Wolski of The Armed on vocals. Fellow affilates from The Armed in drummer Nick Yacyshyn and Kenny Szymanski on bass round out the collective.

Following the initial reveal of the synth-centric "I Am All," the latest preview in "Born prey" serves as one of the band's more aggressive offerings, reaching back to the band's early, more aggressive sound.

The band spoke of the newest single, "We're proud to share our first true ripper since 'Board Up The House' (2008). We still love making bonkers-ass abrasive music, and after 'Dream Weapon' (2021)—which was very focused on creating a hypnotic and ethereal experience—we couldn’t pass up a second opportunity to let Nick Yacyshyn let loose on the drums and shred some blasts. But that’s just the first 60 seconds! Then the song takes a left turn and goes somewhere completely different, and by the time you get to the end, you'll have no idea how you got there. It’s a good window into 'Signal Fire,' which to our ears is the most varied and exploratory album we’ve ever made."

Signal FIre is due out for wide release June 12th via Relapse Records. Check the album artwork below. The album is currently available for pre-order - HERE
