North Dakota's blackened post-metal collective Ghost Bath have announced plans to debut their next full length, Rose Thorn Necklace on May 9th via Nuclear Blast Records. The album serves as the first full length release since 2021's Self Loather and marks the first album apart from the trilogy that began with 2015's Moonlover.
Paired with the news of the album confirmation, Ghost Bath have shared the first preview from the project with the unveiling of the title track. A showcase of black metal derived melancholia, the track is a powerful showing of Ghost Bath's sheer force and the band's modernization of extreme music. Coupled with a cinematic video directed by bloom, the anticipation for Rose Thorn Necklace is real.
Ghost Bath shared of the single, "Rose Thorn Necklace is both beautiful and grotesque. It blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, exploring the contrast of something gorgeous and disgusting. I tried my best to not hold myself back - both musically and lyrically - and this is the result; depressive black metal with raw emotion, unique melodies, and textured synths."
Ghost Bath is currently trekking on the 'Shining Over North America 2025' tour supporting SWALLOW THE SUN. The comprehensive trek makes stops in New York, Houston, and Los Angeles before the finale in Chicago on March 15th. Harakiri for the Sky and Snakes of Russia are also featured on the mammoth bill.
