GHOST is set to make their feature film debut later this summer with the June release of Rite Here, Rite Now. Part concert film, part immersive narrative, the movie sources footage captured during the band's RE-IMPERATOUR U.S.A. 2023.
Coupled with a plot line derived from the band’s comprehensive Chapters series - which has been core to each of the band's album concepts and various iterations. The finished product combines an imaginative storyline with thrilling renditions of favorites from all five of GHOST’s albums as well as the RIAA platinum-certified “Mary On A Cross” all with the fate of GHOST’s Papa Emeritus IV anchored as the film's central focus.
The film was directed by Tobias Forge and Alex Ross Perry and was shot over the course of GHOST's two-night stint at the historic Kia Forum of Los Angeles. Produced by Kristen Mulderig, Rick Sales, Craig Butta and Jonas Åkerlund, the feature film is set to premiere globally June 20th and 22nd with additional screenings happening in various cities around the world.
Ahead of the eagerly-awaited arrival of the film, GHOST has revealed the first full trailer for Rite Here, Rite Now. Underscoring the brilliant live performance of one of rock music's most dynamic bands, the trailer also reveals a fever dream with Papa Emeritus IV at the helm - in a tale that explores fate, eternity, death and more importantly, life.
Along with the arrival of the debut feature film, GHOST will release Rite Here, Rite Now: The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The 18-track musical companion features the previously previewed live rendition of "Absolution" from GHOST's lauded 2015 full length, Meliora.
