Matt Harvey and the gore metal greats of Exhumed have announced their triumphant return in 2026 news of the band's full length, Red Asphalt. Due out February 20th via Relapse Records, the album further builds upon the band's reputation for their fearless exploration of the grim and grisly.
Exhumed founder and band mastermind Matt Harvey explained how their source material for this next record came for the most unlikely of places.
"We're very stoked to be back in your earholes with Red Asphalt. Our recent albums have taken you with us through the graveyards and operating theaters of 19th century Scotland, the horror aisles of the video rental stores of our youths, and through the band's history itself.
This time around, we're inviting you to accompany us to a place that we spend a disproportionate amount of our lives, someplace familiar yet far more dangerous than it feels, a place that can take you to the hospital or the grave in more ways than you can imagine: the American roadway."
Sharing the first chapter of the horrific realities derived from the Great American highway, Exhumed have delivered their first metallic slab with "Unsafe At Any Speed." Showcasing the band's signature meld of deathgrind and putrid pummel, the track is vintage Matt Harvey, complete with guttral vocals, corrosive guitars and a breakneck pace that is intentionally, all gas, no brakes.
Along with the news of the band's next album, Exhumed will begin an extensive live campaign for 2026 beginning with a slate of US dates from February 19th through March 21st with Oxygen Destroyer and No/Más! Exhumed will then touch down for a run of Europe/UK dates with Gruesome from April 4th through May 2nd. See the current list of dates and cities below.
