Comprised of members of Never Ending Game, Simulakra, and Scarab, Griidiron have gone from passion project to top priority for the collective members in Mathew Karll, Will Kaelin, Xavier Wilson, William Livesay and Tyler Mullen. Forged as a creative outlet during the stagnant times of the pandemic, Gridion pooled contributors from the thriving hardcore scenes in the Philly, Delaware, and Michigan regions to created a new amalgam of heavy with distinct savvy.
Gridiron has since gone onto earn acclaim among hardcore's discerning circles. The band's 2022 LP, No Good At Goodbyes fueled a healthy touring cycle that saw the band's reach grow exponentially. Now, the band are set to begin their next chapter and have aligned with burgeoning Blue Grape Music as creative allies.
Joining rank with the label that has signed firebrands like Code Orange, GEL and Spiritual Cramp to list a few, Gridiron becomes the latest addition to the ever-growing roster and has confirmed that new music is on the way for 2025. To preview the band's next era, Gridiron have delivered their first single on their new label with the hard-hitting, "Talk Real".
Vocalist Mathew Karll shared of the appropriate timing of the single, "For me, this song is about being ready when your number is called. Standing by your brothers and having a 'we, not me' mentality. Lyrically, it's about rising to the occasion and playing for the name on the front of the jersey not the name on the back."
Along with the news of the latest offering of music from the band and their next iteration on Blue Grape Music, Gridiron have confirmed that new music is coming in 2025, along with extensive touring in support of the release. Thus far, the band has been confirmed for Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio next year, as well as a handful dates with Trapped Under Ice to close out 2024.
