This spring, the intergalactic horde of Gwar announced plans to celebrate their 40th anniversary of Earthly inhabitance with the confirmation of their latest attack, The Return of Gor Gor.
The multimedia release is set for July 25th via Pit Records and features a collection of three new tracks, four live recordings and a new 32-page graphic novel from the team at Z2 Comics.
The release depicts the Gwar on a quest to reclaim their long-lost otherworldly pet Gor Gor, a three-ton T-Rex who mysteriously disappeared following the death of their former frontman, Oderus Urungus.
Now, the Scumdogs of the Universe have confirmed plans to hit the road for a fall supporting trek doubling as their 40th anniversary celebration as well as their North American album release run. The Return of Gor Gor Tour, rides through North America and begins October 18th in Salt Lake City with support from Helmet, The Dwarves, and Blood Vulture.
The tour will include a stop for the Orlando, FL. finale of 2025 Vans Warped Tour in November before closing out with a play in Norfolk, VA on November 22nd. Blothar the Berzerker chimed in on the announcement, "Gor Gor demands sacrifice! The Tyrant Teen is all grown up and he wants love! Don’t look him in the eye!! The beast demands a bride! Come in your bridal finery. An ocean of chiffon to satisfy the bloodlust of the great lizard!"
Ahead of The Return of the Gor Gor Tour, GWAR will take on a stretch of live dates this summer and beyond that include a play with Lamb of God, an appearance at Gathering of the Juggalos, a stop at Riotfest in Chicago and a performance at Aftershock to begin October.
