For the first time in more than five years, pioneering metallic hardcore champs Hatebreed have delivered new music with the debut of the furious single, "Make the Demons Obey". The release marks the first showing of new music since the band's praised 2020 full length, Weight of the False Self.
In addition, the single ushers in an important new chapter for the band as Hatebreed are currently poised as free agents, releasing their music as independent artists with the first in a succession of single drops being, "Make the Demons Obey".
"Lots of bands say that their newest release will be their heaviest and I guess we are no different," shared frontman Jamey Jasta. "We've managed to push the envelope and surpass our expectations. We've become tighter, harder and more vicious than ever. This is the most excited I've been for any Hatebreed release."
Drummer Matt Byrne reiterated that the future for Hatebreed looks especially promising. "Very exciting things are happening in the Hatebreed camp. It's time to unleash this beast — new music is here! This is the fastest, most vicious, and most aggressive music we have ever created and I'm pumped for the world to hear it."
Hatebreed is currently on the road leading the charge as headliners on the Summer Slaughter tour. Having long championed the new generation of heavy music, Hatebreed has earned top-billing on the summer run, flanked by the likes of Fugitive, Gridiron, Malevolence, Incite, Escuela Grind, and Snuffed on Sight on select dates, in what has been one of the most exciting line-ups of the season. Following the band's summer stretch, Hatebreed will join Killswitch Engage along with Fit For An Autopsy and Decapitated for a European trek this October.
