Doubling down on the initial reveal of their forthcoming full length, Necropolitan, with the hulking lead single, "Evil In This House," heavy occult specialists Green Lung have shared a raucous, fantastically morbid follow-up in the second single, "Necropolitan Line".
Worshipping at the altar of pioneering greats like Deep Purple and Motörhead, the band's foundational significance results in a cut that bridges classic and contemporary in way that defines effectiveness Green Lung.
Paired with a new music video helmed by Tracy Mathewson along with animation from Joseph Brett, the clip frames an homage to the formative late 60's, early 70's German music television program Beat Club, which showcased counter culture to a wide audience, featuring performances from icons like Black Sabbath, T.Rex and the previously referenced, Deep Purple.
The band spoke to the apropos theme of the track and the pedigree of influences that remain core to the single. "Is there a more fitting subject for a Green Lung song than the Necropolis Railway, a real-life train line that carried corpses and mourners across London in the late 19th Century? Mix in some inspiration from 1972's London Underground-set shocker Death Line, a madcap neoclassical organ/guitar duel that evokes Richie Blackmore and Jon Lord at their finger blistering best, and a record Lung BPM of 180, and you have the second single from our fourth album. We can't wait to play this one live for the first time at the Acid Bath show in Manchester on Thursday. Mind the doors!"
Coming off their dazzling performance at Desertfest, Green Lung have further secured what looks to be a career year in 2026 with the news of a massive headlining EU/UK tour. Green Lung will close out the year on the Dance to the Grave Tour MMXXVI. Along with support from High On FIre and Gnome, the run begins December 3rd in Antwerp and closes out December 20th in Glasgow.
