Among the UK's emerging class of extreme metal practitioners, Heriot has announced their highly-anticipated, long-awaited full length debut album, Devoured By the Mouth of Hell. The project marks the band's first full studio outing via Century Media Records and serves as the follow-up to the band's lauded 2022 debut, Profound Mortality EP which arrived via Church Road Records.
Enlisting the expertise of Josh Middleton of Sylosis as well as GRAMMY Award-winning producer Will Putney, who also plays in END, Better Lovers and Fit For An Autopsy - Heriot have achieved a new level of power and prowess framed on the walloping ten tracks of their pending September 27th release.
Coupled with a summer that saw the band deliver highlight live sets at several European festivals, Heriot began previewing their next era, launching weighty singles including "Foul Void" and "Siege Lord" to universal acclaim. The tandem attack of Debbie Gaugh and Erhan Alman on guitars along with Jake Packer on the low end and Julian Gage on percussion create a powerful unit that works in lockstep to detonate every time they get to work.
Paired with the news of the forthcoming full length, Heriot has release another selection from the album with the bombastic, "At the Fortress Gate". Coupled with a new visual directed by longtime collaborator harry Steel, the clip showcases the live wallop of the band captured during their impactful sets at Hellfest, Jera on Air, Download Festival, Resurrection, Rock Am Ring and Rock im Park.
With a theme as epic as the delivery, the band explain of the track, “'At the Fortress Gate' explores the experience of being trapped within a regime, battling against overwhelming forces, feeling powerless, and reflecting on the immense suffering endured by humanity.”
Along with the pending release of the album, Heriot was recently confirmed as part of the incredibly stacked Fit For An Autopsy, Sylosis European run later this year. Along with Darkest Hour the trek will feature Heriot as special guests and will kick off November 22nd in London and close out December 21st in Cologne, Germany.
