Purveyors of cinematic horrorcore Ice Nine Kills have returned with their latest small-screen epic, this time channeling Jack Nicholson and the madcap mayhem of Tim Burton's Gotham City on, "The Laugh Track". 

The visual contrast of the vibrant colors of villainy feature INK lead Spencer Charnas taking on the role of The Joker as he incites chaos and wreaks havoc on the dark streets of Gotham. Huge instrumentation makes for an understatement as the metalcore mainstays are flanked by a marching band and a parade of pandemonium ranging from dancers to destructors all reveling in upheaval as the city turns upside down. 

Working with director Jensen Noen, Charnas spoke to the inspiration of visual, his affinity for the comic book source material and his desire to balance the seriousness of his craft with the over-the-top fun of it all. 

“Why be a brooding bat when you can have the last laugh? After all, Jack Nicholson got top billing in Batman ’89. While Michael Keaton‘s haunted Bruce Wayne is outstanding, young Spencer was drawn more to the Clown Prince of Crime. ‘The Laugh Track‘ is our homage to Tim Burton‘s dark and gorgeous gothic Gotham. Batman ’89 took its comic book material seriously, but it was far from grounded, and never forgot to have fun. It’s the same tightrope we walk in Ice Nine Kills, with broad, maniacal smiles.

Terry Kiser returns in the video (although the rumors of Miles’ demise are exaggerated). And it brings a warm human smile to my face to introduce Matthew Lillard and Phil Morris to the INKverse. Like Prince before us, ‘The Laugh Track‘ will have you dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight.”

The arrival of "The Laugh Track" follows the acclaim of "The Great Unknown” inspired by cinematic world of The Matrix and the record-breaking success of "A Work of Art". The track was featured as part of the highest-grossing unrated film ever, in Terrifier 3, and officially welcomed Art the Clown into the universe of Ice Nine Kills. 

As for the ongoing collaboration between Matthew Lillard and the Ice Nine Kills orbit, the actor made a guest appearance at this year's Silver Scream Convention to unveil his Horrorwood Reserve Whiskey along with Spencer Charnas. Appearing alongside the likes of WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley and famed director Greg Nicotero, Lillard and Charnas introduced their blood red Horrorwood Reserve from Macabre Spirits along with their detailed collector bottles - debuting yet another extension of the INK universe. 

The drop of "The Laugh Track" segues into Ice Nine Kills busy remainder of 2025. The band will headline their When We Were Young Sideshow in addition to their back-to-back weekend appearances at the Las Vegas megafestival.
