Progressive metalcore powerhouse Imminence have announced their signing with heavy music authority, Sumerian Records. The creative partnership follows the universal acclaim of the Swedish unit's breakout success with their 2024 full length, The Black.
With subsequent sold out tours, festival appearances and a surge in global notoriety as a result, the swell of momentum behind Imminence has positioned the band as one of the most promising in their space and a strong indication of the future of progressive metalcore.
Underscoring that prowess and marking the introduction of the band's Sumerian Records era, the epic single in "The Sword That Never Bends" is an incendiary first outing that marks an auspicious start and set the table for what's to come. Working with producer Drew Fulk, the single showcases huge instrumentation, powerful performances and the kind of cinematic approach that has set Imminence apart from the pack.
“We all knew from the start — this was a single,” the band explained. “Everyone who heard it felt the same. ‘The Sword That Never Bends’ came alive in a way that immediately defined both the sound and the themes of where Imminence is headed next. It introduces a new dimension to our identity and carries a relentless energy that pulls you out from the shadows of The Black.”
The band also weighed in on the organic creative development of the new track, “The writing process can best be summed up in one word: flow. Everything began in our home studio, where each piece fell into place almost effortlessly. It felt unmistakably like Imminence, yet shaped into something new — exactly the kind of song we’ve been striving to create for years.”
For the immersive new music video, Imminence teamed with longtime collaborator Pavel Trebukhin and writer Juan Zuleta to craft a visual indicative of the scope of the music. The end result is a clip that conveys the cinematic quality of the music and relays the kind of narrative that makes Imminence such a force.

The arrival of new music and the confirmation of Imminence's signing with Sumerian Records lands as the band have recently confirmed the a massive 2027 headlining tour with support from August Burns Red.
