Swedish metalcore powerhouse Imminence have confirmed their sixth full length album, Axis Mundi. The album arrives October 2nd via Sumerian Records and serves as the eagerly-awaited follow-up to the band's universally acclaimed breakout, The Black.
Working in close collaboration with producer Drew Fulk (Twenty One Pilots, Knocked Loose, HEALTH), the band continued their hands-on approach, co-producing the 11-track presentation. Previewing the album thus far with epic entries in "The Sword That Never Bends," and the just revealed "False Light," Imminence continues to expand on their reputation for colossal instrumentation, powerful performances and overarching cinematic vision.
Coupled with the announcement of the new album, Imminence have shared a second single in as many days with the reveal of "Crestfallen". While "False Light" embraced a more aggressive stance, "Crestfallen" delivers on the band's balance of atmospherics and the vocal range of frontman Eddie Berg, asserting the full sonic range of a band performing at their creative peak.
Guitarist Harald Barrett spoke on the tandem release and explained how the singles speak to the greater scope of the album. "Duality has always been at the heart of Imminence. Our musical expression is a conversation between darkness and light, violence and beauty, despair and hope."
Barrett continued, “'False Light' and 'Crestfallen' embody those opposing forces more clearly than anything we've released before. They're radically different in sound and emotion, but together they tell a single story. That's why it felt important to present them side by side as we unveil Axis Mundi. Our new album is not meant to be experienced from one perspective alone. It's a journey through every extreme that defines what Imminence is, and these two songs are the perfect gateway into that world."
The arrival of new music and beginning of the band's Sumerian Records-era leads into Imminence's massive 2026 headlining tour with across North America support from Dying Wish and Gaerea. The tour begins November 13th in Worcester, MA and closes out December 13th with a finale in Montreal. Get a complete list of confirmed dates and tickets - HERE
