The announcement marks the third time the metal titans have been up for induction.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced their field of nominees for 2026 and the extensive list of 17 artists spans one of their most diverse classes to date.

Among the first time nominees slated for the ballot, pioneering hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan are up for the honor along with Phil Collins, Jeff Buckley, Lauryn Hill, Shakira, PINK, Luther Vandross, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, and New Edition.

Among the names making their return to the ballot, Joy Divison/New Order, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes, SADE, Mariah Carey, the reluctant Oasis and back for the third time, NWOBHM legends, Iron Maiden.

Previously nominated in 2021 and again in 2023, the band's frontman Bruce Dickinson infamously told The Telegraph in a 2023 interview that Iron Maiden would rather not be enshrined. "I don’t want to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," Dickinson said. "Because we’re not dead yet!

Among the additional takeaways from the field, both Jeff Buckley and PINK serve as standouts. For PINK, she is the only artist included in the field that is in her first year of eligibility, while Jeff Buckley is earning his nod with only one album released during his lifetime with Grace debuting in 1994. The singer/songwriter would pass away in 1997.

A committee of 1,200 voters will weigh in over the next couple of months to determine the 2026 class. Fan voting for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is currently live - HERE

Winners will be announced this April with the official induction ceremony to be held later this year.
