Campaigning towards the February 21st release of one of the most anticipated heavy albums of the year, Killswitch Engage have delivered a second preview single from This Consequence with the drop the empowering, "I Believe".
Where the album's introductory single, "Forever Aligned" offered a message that spoke to humanity's connective thread, "I Believe" is a compelling call to the resilience of people, an anthemic message of empowerment and self-determination backed by an especially convincing performance from frontman Jesse Leech.
"'I Believe' is about undying hope," explained Leach. "During difficult times perspective is everything. Knowing deep down that 'this too shall pass' has been a beacon of light for me. I do believe there is meaning behind suffering. If we are able to push through difficult times and come out the other side, there is a renewed sense of purpose."
Leech added, "I know there are much more commonalities between all of us as humans than there are differences. The good far outweighs the bad. This is my message to anyone who's listening — things will get better! However, you have to believe that they will!. There is power in faith, there is power in manifestation and prayer! Keep the faith and push forward with the confidence of better days ahead. Do not let this world pull you down into despair. Tomorrow is a new day and a new possibility for change!"
This Consequence Set serves as Killswitch's first studio effort since the Atonement cycle of 2019. In addition to the arrival of the Metal Blade Records release, the band is preparing for a massive North American tour with Kublai Khan TX, Fit For A King and Frozen Soul spanning next spring. The band recently confirmed additional dates with Shadows Fall, Fit For A King and Boundaries, adding to their itinerary for the year. The tour will offer fans the first chance to experience new songs from The Consequence in the band's electrifying live set.
