Irish unit KNEECAP has announced their next full length studio album, Fenian, as the polarizing collective has faced serious hurdles in the last year. The trio landed on the greater global radar last year with some provoking onstage banter included the remarks, "The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP."

Prompting an investigation by Metropolitan Police which would eventually be dropped, KNEECAP would again commandeer headlines with their 2025 Coachella performance, displaying “Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people” and “Fuck Israel / Free Palestine” messaging during their set.

KNEECAP's vocal support of both Hamas and Hezbollah prompted condemnations from the likes of British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Sharon Osbourne. Despite growing sentiment that sought to stifle the band's momentum, KNEECAP continued to release music and play to packed festival crowds internationally.

In a statement confirming the new album, KNEECAP explained how the turbulent year of controversy ultimately influenced the new record. "They tried to stop us by branding Kneecap 'terrorists', with cancellations, with statements from the Prime Minister himself.

We had all the motivation we needed…this isn't a swift reaction, but a considered response to those that tried to silence us. And failed."
Along with the announcement of the new album, KNEECAP has shared their latest single previewing the project with "Liars Tale."
The band went onto explain the title of the album and how it is intended to convey cultural pride and unwavering defiance amid generations of colonization. "Inspired by, and proudly named 'Fenian', who were warriors in Irish folklore, and later a derogatory term for the Irish. Now we're using it to name everyone speaking truth to power.
After 800 years of colonisation, they thought the Irish language would die, it didn't. Thanks to Muintir na Gaeltachta, and all the Gaels who refused to let their culture and language be destroyed.
And KNEECAP is much the same…we haven't gone away.
The Paddies are back."
Fenian, the new album from KNEECAP arrives April 24th via Heavenly Recordings. Order the album - HERE
