Following the acclaim of one of the biggest tours of the summer in the Ashes of Leviathan Tour - Lamb of God and Mastodon marked the 20th anniversaries of their seminal releases, Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan respectfully.
The run not only paired two of American metal's most influential, instrumental units, but also emphasized a creative bond that has only grown stronger as the band's built their careers alongside one another. Revisiting two of metal music's most enduring albums, would eventual segue into something much more collaborative.

As a way to punctuate the significance of the Ashes of Leviathan run, Lamb of God and Mastodon have joined forces once again, this time combining their talents on the same track. "Floods of Triton" arrives as not only a testament to the long-standing connection between both bands, but also serves as a powerful reminder of how both continue to execute at their very top of their game.
The track was produced in tandem by Mastodon as well as Tyler Bates. Among those credited with contributions on the track, Mastodon as well as Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton and vocalist Randy Blythe are listed. As for the final product, despite both bands have such distinct, definitive sounds, the combination creates a seamless mesh of intensity and compositional intricacy that results in a mammoth track indicative of combined strength of Lamb of God and Mastodon.
