There was a reason the KNOTFEST team listed Levitation as one of the festival experiences that should be on your radar and the unveiling of the 2025 line-up is clear evidence as to why.

Among the more apparent changes to Levitation this year includes the expanding to a four-day festival format. Additionally, Levitation has moved to new digs, making headquarters at the Palmer Events Center, in addition to their Downtown Austin programming that cover a variety of venues across the city.
Set for September 25th through the 28th, Levitation 2025 will feature top-line performances from Mastodon, TV On the Radio, and Pavement In addition to the headlining anchors on each night, organizers have lived up to their rep in being elite level curators, boasting the kind of line up that functions like a brilliant record collection.
Night one with Mastodon will feature sets from the recently reunited Acid Bath, otherworldly extreme metal mystics Blood Incantation, The Armed and Austin heroes, The Sword. Night two featuring TV On the Radio will include supporting sets from Unknown Moral Orchestra, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Blonde Redhead. Night three with Pavement features sets from Built to Spill, Austin legends The Black Angels and Destroyer.
Kicking off the weekender, Beach Fossils will take on the Wednesday night shift along with sets from MDOU MOCTAR and more. Levitation's central footprint will be at the Palmer Events Center and will feature two stages, immersive 360 visuals as well as art installation throughout.
Along with the mainstage, traditional festival format, Levitation expands their footprint nightly with satellite programming across various venues in Downtown Austin. Among the artists confirmed for evening club shows include Boy Harsher, Sudan Archives, Pup & Jeff Rosenstock, The Dandy Warhols, Martin Rev of SUICIDE, Neal Francis, Drugdealer, Pixel Grip and so many more.
Co-founder and festival director Rob Fitzpatrick spoke about the decision to take on a new home for the festival and how the location is ideal for the Levitation experience. “We’ve been searching for the right location to bring a multi-stage experience back to LEVITATION for years, and we found it right downtown. The venue offers a huge upgrade in production overall with endless possibilities for the visual experience, and great amenities - air conditioning, nice bathrooms, ample parking, a giant shaded outdoor courtyard, along with the production infrastructure needed for a world-class show. All of that in a beautiful park in the heart of the city."
Fitzpatrick added, "...and the proximity to downtown means we’re still able to host shows in our Red River venues; these clubs are the heart and soul of our music scene in Austin and it wouldn’t be LEVITATION without them. We’re very excited to create something remarkable and built to last in this new home for the festival, and we can’t wait to experience this lineup with everyone in September.”
