Just a day after Loathe confirmed the July 17th arrival of their long-awaited new album, A Stranger to You, the band have now confirmed a supporting tour across North America behind the record.
A Stanger to You North American tour features Loathe in the headlining spot with support from heavy shoegaze specialists Fleshwater and noise rock prospects Prostitute as the opening special guests. The tour begins September 19th in Royal Oak, MI and closes out October 13th in San Francisco, CA.
Paired with the announcement of the new album, Loathe have enlisted NOWHERE2RUN, the latest iteration of Code Orange members Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose, to introduce the new album with the single, "Revenant." Backed by the hostile vocals of Kadeem France along with sonic crush of guitarist Erik Bickerstaffe, the harsh electronic accents from Morgan and Balderose make for a lush, layered track that adds an air of sophistication to contemporary heavy music.
A Stranger to You was engineered, produced and mixed by the band's own Erik Bickerstaffe along with Sean Radcliffe and Feisal El-Khazragi and features a healthy roster of collaborative creatives. Among the broad range of artists featured, jazzy/electronic multi-instrumentalist and producer Jordan Rakei, fellow UK heavy contemporaries Static Dress, rapper/lyricist bucki sugar and multi-hyphenate Mansur Brown.
In addition to the news of the A Stranger to You tour across North America, Loathe will begin their Australian run next month with Static Dress. The band will then return to Europe for a stretch of dates spanning festival appearances and supporting dates for Mastodon. Loathe are set to make U.S. festival appearances at both Lollapalooza in Chicago this July as well as Louder Than Life in Louisville this September. See the list of confirmed dates and cities below.
