East Yorkshire collective Mastiff has issued another pummeling preview from their forthcoming EP, For All the Dead Dreams. Due out October 24th via Church Road Records, the EP arrives just a year after the band dominated via their celebrated LP, Deprecipice.
Introducing the supplemental release last month with the gargantuan track, "A Story Behind Every Light," the band hailed for their combination of sludge, grind, and groove emphatically marked their campaign on Church Road.
For the band's latest offering, the intensity is dialed up even more, asserting a kind of calculated chaos indicative of a band finding the perfect balance of progression and sheer power. The band spoke to the authenticity of the hostile track, citing the real life horrors that compelled them to put pen to paper.
"Despite having every intention of writing a mostly hardcore-leaning EP, ‘Decimated Graves’ spewed itself out of us and all bets were off. The track is something of a scathing assault on anyone enabling the current genocide happening in Gaza, and musically feels like a spiritual successor to ‘Acid Breather’ - our track from the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack - a kinda grind/death hybrid with lots of nauseating riffs and blasts, which then lurches into a massive wall of doom at the end that feels like a return to the sound Mastiff specialised in for our first couple of releases."
