Metalcore vets Memphis May Fire have laid out their plans for 2025 of which include a new studio album and an accompanying spring headlining tour. Continuing the band's long tenure on Rise Records, Shapeshifter marks the band's next full length and arrives on March 28th.
Officially beginning the album cycle, Memphis May Fire have issued an explosive shot with the reveal of the album's title track and music video, "Shapeshifter". In line with the succession of singles that have surfaced from this band this year, the single follows entries like "Chaotic", "Paralyzed", "Infection", "Hell Is Empty" and "Necessary Evil" as a well-produced show of musical force. Anchored by vocalists Matty Mullins' impassioned delivery, the title track emphasizes the cathartic quality of Memphis May Fire's music.
"'Shapeshifter' reflects the struggle of wrestling with identities and the need to confront the masks we wear," says Mullins. "This track, and the entire album, is about exposing those parts of ourselves we often keep hidden. It's a journey through the layers of deception, self-reflection, and the struggle to find what's genuine in a world full of pretense. We wanted 'Shapeshifter' to embody that feeling of losing and finding yourself, over and over, until you finally see what's real."
Along with the news of the forthcoming album, Memphis May Fire have confirmed a headlining Spring tour. The 2025 run will feature support from Caskets, Wind Walkers, and Elijah. The run begins April 16th in Little Rock and extends through May 17th in Atlanta. The tour also includes appearances at Sonic Temple and closes with a set at Welcome to Rockville.
