With the 25th anniversary edition of Bloodstock currently underway at Catton Park, Derbyshire, festival organizers were at the ready with the initial announcement for 2027.

With performances from Lamb of God, Judas Priest, Slaughter to Prevail, Saxon, the final Bloodstock showing from Sepultura, plus sets from Cryptopsy, Carpenter Brut, Leprous and many more, the silver anniversary installment set a high bar that producers were aiming to up. 

Unveiling the first wave of confirmed artists for 2027, Bloodstock will welcome Danish metal icons Mercyful Fate for a headlining set on the Ronnie James Dio mainstage. King Diamond shared of the announcement, “Mercyful Fate is honored and looking extremely forward to playing BLOODSTOCK again, last time was awesome, and this time with a brand new album out, FINALLY!!!”

Paired with the arrival of their latest groundbreaking LP, Tanzneid, genre-busting collective Electric Callboy will bring their hyperactive live set to the Bloodstock stage on Saturday night. “Our first ever Bloodstock. Heavy music, questionable outfits, and thousands of metalheads? Sounds like a Perfect fit to us. We’re in. See you there!”

Set to close out Sunday night's festivities, metalcore titans Motionless In White will celebrate their more than 20 years of domination and the recent arrival of their lauded LP, Decades, with a finale in Derbyshire. The band's frontman Chris Motionless shared, “Bloodstock! We were told that we are one of the most requested bands to perform at your legendary festival, so it is with great honor to announce that we are answering the call and will be seeing you next year for our first ever European festival headlining show, and only U.K. show of 2027! Thank you so much! Let the countdown begin.”

Touting a first wave of artists with no lulls, Bloodstock 2027 aims to be the strongest offering to date with additional standout sets from Acid Bath, Green Lung, Children of Bodom, Imminence, Devildriver and Sylosis. Revered vets like Corrosion of Conformity, Hypocrisy, Decapitated and Madball join still ascending forces in Witch Club Satan, Gaerea and Fulci for a line-up that is among the fest's very best.
