Having already amassed a devout following and a revered rank among metallic hardcore's emerging elite, Manchester collective Guilt Trip have announced their next phase, teaming with heavy music authority Roadrunner Records.
FInding their stride with the release of 2023's Severance, the band's brand of brass tacks aggression earned a new level or notoriety - one that landed the band on the greater radar of heavy music far and wide. The release would inevitably position the band on a different trajectory - one that would result in a substantial deal with the respected label.
"We are thrilled to announce that Guilt Trip have signed to Roadrunner Records," the band enthused. "To celebrate, we present 'Burn,' our brand new single and first with the label. Roadrunner and its history forged Guilt Trip's sound as you know it, so this collaboration always felt inevitable. Thank you so much to the fans for the unwavering support throughout the years — this is only the beginning. Here's to the next chapter."
Guitarist Jak Maden went onto offer his takeaways from the new track and shared how the single is a nod to their influences and representative of al things Guilt Trip. "Sonically, it's a metal song with hardcore influences sprinkled in. To us, it felt a little bit like old Machine Head. It's definitely an anthem. As soon as we finished it, I knew it needed a simple repeated line until the drop and 'wall of death' section. We won't even need to tell the crowd what to do."
News of the signing and the arrival of "Burn" land as the band prepare to take on the US with an extensive tour supporting Kublai Khan TX. The Manchester crew will begin their run of the states with an appearance at Louder Than Life in Louisville on September 18th and at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest on September 20th.
