Breaking the news on The Howard Stern Show, Lars Ulrich of Metallica confirmed that Maximum Metallica will go from speciality programming to a year-round format exclusively on SiriusXM channel 42. 

“The Most Metallica Anywhere,” the exclusive channel will offer fans continued access to Metallica’s generational archive of music spanning essential hits, deep cuts, in addition to live shows recordings and plus stories and discussions direct from the band.

Maximum Metallica will also feature rare recordings, exclusive interviews and surprises all curated band members themselves. The channel offers fans comprehensive access to all things Metallica all year long. Maximum Metallica officially launches August 29 at 12pm ET. The channel be available for free in all SiriusXM-equipped vehicles through the month of September allowing even non-subscribers a chance to experience the channel entirely dedicated to Metallica. 

To celebrate the launch of the year-round SiriusXM Maximum Metallica channel, the band will perform an especially rare intimate set at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY, on August 28th. The performance will be recorded and will premiere on September 1st at 12pm ET. The performance marks one of the most intimate settings Metallica has played in decades.
