Approaching two decades in the game, metalcore veterans Miss May I have announced their eight full length studio album, No Place For Me. The album is set to arrive October 2nd via Solid State Records and follows the band's 2022 LP, Curse of Existence.
Beginning the band's latest chapter last year, Miss May I launched the single, "Pray For Silence," ushering in their era on their new label. The blistering follow-up single in "Die On The Vine," would follow, ramping up the excitement surrounding the band's next move as fans anticipated a bigger play.
Miss May I architect Levi Benton shared the personal importance of this next release. “No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.”
Leaving one of the album's most effective tracks in the chamber for the introduction, "Sanctuary" serves as the next single and arguably one of the album's most profound. Pairing powerful, precision instrumentation with Benton's vocal range and command, the track is reminder of Miss May I's continued run on modern metalcore.
The singer spoke to the personal weight that drives the single, “‘Sanctuary’ is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible. It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like.”
