Just weeks away from the release of their latest LP, No Place For Me, metalcore stalwarts Miss May I have unloaded another hulking single to preview the project. "Highbrow Thieves" asserts big guitars, clobbering percussion and a convincing vocal call from frontman, Levi Benton.
The vocalist shared of the track, "'Highbrow Thieves' is written from the perspective of someone worked to the bone, taking orders from people with no remorse for who they're giving them to. The 'thieves' here aren't after riches or objects — what they're really stealing is something far more valuable: Time."
Beginning the band's latest chapter last year, Miss May I launched the single, "Pray For Silence," ushering in their era on their new label. The blistering follow-up single in "Die On The Vine," would follow, ramping up the excitement surrounding the band's next move as fans anticipated a bigger play. Confirming the new album, “Sanctuary” set it off, marking the official beginning the band’s modern wave.
Benton spoke previously of the personal importance of this next release. “No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.”
Later this fall, Miss May I will set out on The Perpetual Iron tour alongside Born of Osiris with support from Convictions and Downswing.
