Set to begin their silver anniversary run commemorating 25 years of L.D. 50, Mudvayne have unleashed their first new offering of music in nearly two decades with the unveiling of "Hurt People Hurt People." The explosive return single reasserts the power and prowess of Chad Gray, Greg Tribbett, Ryan Martinie and Matthew McDonough that first transformed the landscape of heavy music during the formative 00's era.
From Gray's violent vocal spew combined with high-powered musical assault from triio of Tribbett, Martinie and McDonough, the track is an impressive return to form and celebrates a resounding reintroduction for a whole new generation of fans.
Speaking the volatility of the track, frontman Chad Gray explained, "Hurt People Hurt People' has probably been around since the beginning of man. Certainly longer than the phrase ever existed. The endless cycle of projecting our pain onto others. I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own hurt. It's time for us to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with."
Among the most definitive albums of the Y2K era of American metal, Mudvayne's mammoth debut L.D. 50 would introduce the band to a global audience. A staggering combination of force and technicality, the effort was produced by Garth Richardson along with the band and included the oversight of names like Steve Richards and one, Shawn "clown" Crahan.
Revisiting the magnitude of the album, Mudvayne set out on the silver anniversary tour next month. Nearly 25 years to the day of the initial release, Mudvayne will take to the road to perform some of their most beloved and enduring entries from L.D. 50 live, spanning auditoriums, amphitheaters and arenas on the run.
Emphasizing the generational reach and lasting impact of Mudvayne, the band has recruited a powerful one-two as live support for the tour. Purveyors of evil disco in Static-X will serve as direct support on the run with heavy music's new blood in Vended taking on the task of opening the tour.
The run is set to kick off September 13th in Waukee, IA and come to a dramatic finale at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on October 26th to close out strong. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below. Get tickets - HERE
