En route to the June 20th release of their sophomore release, All The Devils Are Here, new school aggressors Mugshot have shared a scorching new track with, "I Will Be Here Forever". The track follows a string of singles in "Die In Fear," "Afore A Waking Nightmare" and "Vale of Tears" all of which showcase the band's modernization of metalcore.
On "I Will Be Here Forever" Mugshot unload a hefty fury of frenzied, urgent guitars, pummeling drums and the spew of vocalist Ringo Waterman on a track that emphasizes the band's explosiveness.
The band detailed the emotional urgency of the single, "This was one of the most difficult to finish lyrically, but came together better because of that. We all felt a sense of isolation while writing and recording this album so thematically, this song is centered around sacrificing whatever you feel is necessary to accomplish one’s goals, even if that means ultimately harming yourself or those around you."
As for the album, All The Devils Are Here, the effort follows the acclaim of Mugshot's 2023 EP release, Cold Will. Teaming with venerated producer Randy Leboeuf (Kublai Kahn, The Acacia Strain, Gideon, Bad Omens), the San Jose unit level up their intensity with a 12-track presentation that asserts sure-handed songwriting with hard-hitting dynamics.
"This album is the most collaborative we have ever been as a band, every person had a major hand in creating whether that be musically, lyrically or both. It’s also the first album we haven’t self produced and having Randy Leboeuf on board was so invaluable, he really felt like a 5th member. Lyrically this is the most personal and pissed off we have ever been and we think everyone will be able to connect with many tracks on this record."
Trekking in support of the new album, Mugshot will be featured as the direct support band on Orthodox's A Door Left Open summer tour starting later this month. A complete list of dates an cities can be found below.
