Following the band's recent triumphant showing at When We Were Young and their lauded performance of the seminal The Black Parade album, My Chemical Romance announced a 10-date stadium tour celebrating near two decades of the generational album.
Kicking off next summer, My Chemical Romance will perform the album in full with a stadium run that begins in Seattle at T-Mobile Park. The tour will include stops at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Soldier Field in Chicago and Fenway Park in Boston to list just a few and will feature an impressively diverse field of support selected by the band.
Among the artists confirmed to tag along for the caravan of The Black Parade, Violent Femmes, 100 Gecs, Wallows, Garbage, Death Cab for Cutie, Thursday, Alice Cooper, Pixies, Devo, IDLES and Evanescence have all been designated their own dates on the run.
In a matter of hours, My Chemical Romance sold out each of the confirmed dates on the Long Live: The Black Parade Tour, selling more than 365,000 tickets. Due to such high demand, the band has added a second date for their Los Angeles stop at Dodger Stadium. MCR will now takeover the iconic location for a full weekend with performances set for July 26th and 27th.
Confirming the big news, the band shared to their socials, “It has been seventeen years since The Black Parade was sent to the MOAT. In that time, a great Dictator has risen to power, bringing about ‘THE CONCRETE AGE’; a glorious time of stability and abundance in the history of DRAAG."
The band continued, “His Grand Immortal Dictator wishes to celebrate our rich and storied culture, fine foods, and musical entertainments by welcoming you to these great demonstrations of power and resolve. And lending voice and song for the first time in six thousand two hundred and forty six days, their work privilege ceremoniously reinstated, will be His Grand Immortal Dictator’s National Band… The Black Parade.”
