SHOW ME THE BODY - CORPUS II (Corpus)

Completing the second half of the Corpus series, hardcore outliers Show Me the Body have debuted the latest EP, serving as the second half of the LP which features a slew of collaborative cuts. With contributions from High Vis, Special Interest, Spelling, Ian Shelton of Regional Justice Center and Militarie Gun, Destiny Yusuf of ZULU, VCR, Corbin, and Nick Hakim - the release underscores the core tenant of community that remains essential to the DNA of Show Me the Body. Paring  hardcore adjacent aggression and outside the box delivery, the release is comprised of unconventional heft that sources various stylistic elements to be hit hard from every angle.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER - SERVITUDE (Metal Blade Records)

Death metal outliers The Black Dahlia Murder have released their landmark tenth fell length studio album, Servitude, continuing their lengthy tenure on Metal Blade Records. The album marks the first studio effort from the reconfigured band, following the tragic passing of beloved frontman, Trevor Strnad.  The remaining members in Brian Eschbach, Max Lavelle, Alan Cassidy, producer/guitarist Brandon Ellis and the return of Ryan Knight complete the reassembly of The Black Dahlia Murder for what is a staggering show of musical force from one death metal's most beloved practitioners.

HERIOT - DEVOURED BY THE MOUTH OF HELL (Century Media Records)

Among the UK's emerging class of pushing the boundaries of modern metal, Heriot have issued their highly-anticipated full length debut album, Devoured By the Mouth of Hell. The project marks the band's first full studio outing via Century Media Records and serves as the follow-up to the band's lauded 2022 debut, Profound Mortality, which first landed the band on heavy music's greater radar. Enlisting an elite roster of personnel to work on the album, producer Josh Middleton and engineer Will Putney bolster the band's mammoth sound. The tandem attack of Debbie Gaugh and Erhan Alman on guitars along with Jake Packer on the low end and Julian Gage on percussion create a powerful unit that works in lockstep to detonate every time they get to work. Devoured... just might be the band's most explosive showing yet.

RIPPED TO SHREDS - SANSHI (Relapse Records)

Paying homage to the greats of death metal and grind, Ripped to Shreds have delivered their entry of modernized brutality marking their full length debut via Relapse Records. Sourcing Chinese folklore with to better highlight their embrace of death and the afterlife, Sanshi is compelling mesh of narrative and musical bombast. Detailing culturally rooted ritual revolving around mortality with a soundtrack that emphasizes serious riffage and crushing percussion, Ripped to Shreds push the pace with an LP that is heavy in both style and substance.

THE AMITY AFFLICTION - LET THE OCEAN TAKE ME REDUx (Pure Noise Records)

Australian vets The Amity Affliction have completed especially ambitious plans in commemorating the 10th anniversary of their seminal full length release, Let the Ocean Take Me. Rather than run with a re-issue with a bit of polishing and studio magic, the band entered the studio to re-record the entirety of the original album - with the advantage of decade of refinement. The refresh of the album's original tracklist asserts a new energy to the songs along with brightened production. The end result underscores the enduring shelf life of the songs, which all still hit resounding intensity - like it did the first time.

MIMI BARKS - THIS IS DOOM TRAP (Silent Cult)

Working with a team of trusted, accomplished producers to materialize her vision, Mimi Barks' full length debut touts entries from MorgothBeatz (Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker), Brian Spencer (Slipknot, Scarlxrd) and Kenny Graves (Stitches, HXXXD, and Cody Manson). Poised to once again cause a shift in the scene, the disruptor is looking to double down on the success of her Deadgirl mixtape that propelled her to new heights. A potent mesh of influences intended to blur genre lines, Mimi Barks asserts her brand has serious bite.
