No Cure Unload Clobbering New Track, "Slowly Turning Blue"

Get the details on the band's debut album, It Is Going to Get Dark, and the North American tour with Big Ass Truck, Bayway and Boltcutter.

Last month, Alabama metallic hardcore collective No Cure unveiled their pending full length, It Is Going To Get Dark. Set to arrive July 10th via Sharptone Records, the introductory single, "Convulsing In the Dark" set a devastating precedent, setting the world of heavy music on notice with the band's brand of venom and volatility.

For the second serving from the album, No Cure have double down on their sonic destruction with the follow-up, "Slowly Turning Blue." Armed with hulking riffs and an unrelenting intensity, the track is coupled with a provocative new visual that addresses some weighty subject matter, while showcasing the band at full speed.

Frontman Blaythe Steuer said of the single, "'Slowly Turning Blue' is a song I needed to write before No Cure was even an idea. Unfortunately, it's pretty emotionally challenging for me, so instead I will talk about how much I love the static pinch riff, the harmonized guitars in the bridge, and the Sepultura drums section. I can't wait to play this one live starting next month across the US because to be honest you are dancing."

Speaking to the greater, dismal context of the record, Steuer explained how personal loss, societal fracture and creative focus ultimately made for the perfect combination to create the band's first full length outing.

"There is a deep malaise overhead as we are subjected to the way the world is turning. It is clear that things are getting worse, and there is no end in sight. This fixation combined with the grueling touring lifestyle we've lived the past few years has resulted in the perfect first No Cure LP. We recorded this deep in the woods of Alabama between tours, and loss surrounded the band as it was being written. Despite the great shows and tours we've been doing, this has been a painful time for the band. Each song has purpose and it is critically important that we deliver a record that is worth listening to from start to finish. If you don't see that it is going to get dark yet... you will soon."

In support of It Is Going To Get Dark, NO CURE will head out on the A Darkness Is Spreading Across North America tour will support from Big Ass Truck, I.E., Bayway, and Boltcutter. The tour begins July 9th in Baltimore, MD and closes out with the band's highly-anticipated set at Sound & Fury Festival on August 15th. A complete list of dates and cities can be found below.
