Swedish melodic metal standouts Orbit Culture have unveiled their newest iteration, confirming their next full length studio release, Death Above Life.

The album marks the band's eagerly-awaited follow-up to 2023 triumph in Descent, in addition to the companion EP release, The Forgotten - efforts that earned universal praise from fans and critics alike while catapulting the Orbit Culture to new heights among heavy music's most celebrated contemporaries.

The announcement lands following the recent reveal of the epic first single, "The Tales of War". A brutal showing of precision and heavy music prowess, the track serves as an homage to the Swedish signature, all while asserting Orbit Culture's progressive, expansive take on melodic heft.

Setting an October 3rd release date, Death Above Life also marks the band's debut album on Century Media Records - ushering in a pivotal new era of Orbit Culture. Paired with the confirmation, the band have shared the album's mammoth title track - an entry that officially ushers in the modern era of the band and beginning of their most ambitious musical campaign.

The band explain of "Death Above Life," "While the first single, 'The Tales Of War,' acted as a bridge to the next chapter, this one kicks the doors wide open. It's darker, heavier, and leans into a more horror-driven side of Orbit Culture."

The band also explained the thematic significance of the single and revealed the track will make it's live debut during Orbit Culture's highly-anticipated performance at  Donington Park this weekend.

"Lyrically, it reflects a choice: When faced with the idea of continuing down a path surrounded by the wrong people, we sometimes know that we have to cut ties. It is not literally about choosing death but walking away from what is holding us back. 'Death Above Life' is about letting go of what no longer fits to make space for something real. It will see the light of day for the very first time at Download Festival."

The announcement of Death Above Life begins as Orbit Culture are coming of their successful live campaign as the featured guest on the Poisoned Ascendancy EU/UK tour supporting Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine. En route to the October release of Death Above Life, Orbit Culture are currently out on a run of summer dates spanning festival plays and supporting dates with In Flames.
