Set to deliver one of heavy music's most volatile full length submissions on June 6th, Orthodox have unleashed an arsenal in the form of three explosive preview singles. With "Searching for A Pulse," the Andrew Neufeld-assisted "Commit to Consequence," plus the latest molotov in "Sacred Place" the emerging unit is making good and asserting their position as heavy music's new elite.
Adding to the consuming quality of the pending full length, A Door Left Open, Orthodox have shared yet another barnburner with the reveal of "Keep Your Blessings". A caustic meld of unconventional rhythms, frenetic guitars and vocalist Adam Easterling's violent spew, the track is a powerful summation of the band's musical brawn.
Offering a clear articulation of the angst at the core of the track, Easterling explained in no uncertain terms, “It comes down to the fact that life will kick your a**, whether you want it to or not.”
Ensuring all elements of the project remain hands on, the video for "Keep Your Blessings" found drummer Mike White teaming with Errick Easterday to develop and actualize the collective vision. White shared how things progressed from concept to execution. “'Keep Your Blessings' has been one of my favorites since beginning the demo process for ‘A Door Left Open’. The song has a lot of interesting elements that really complement the video itself. The video grew from an early cover art concept: a car full of photos and things stolen from homes. This quickly evolved into a full story of a man who has lost the ability to do what he loves most due to old age. Errick Easterday was thankfully super interested in the concept and it evolved from there.”
The pending full length was produced by Randy LeBoeuf (Jesus Piece, Kublai Khan TX, Dying Wish) and touts a strong roster of special guest contributors. Among the names featured on the album include the previously mention Andrew Neufeld of Comeback Kid, Matt McDougal of Boundaries and Brann Dailor of Mastodon.
Orthodox will be out on the road in support of A Door Left Open with an extensive headlining US tour. Following a pair of dates with Illinois' Harms Way next week, the band will take on a lengthy summer run with support from Mugshot, Omerta and fromjoy. The tour will kick off with a hometown album release show on June 21st in Nashville with additional support from Year of the Knife and Inclination.
