Set to begin a fall tour along with Seether and Daughtry in support of their 2024 full length, Veritas, platinum rock OGs P.O.D. have released a cover of one of rock music's most beloved anthems of all-time. Bravely taking on royalty, the San Diego collective tip their hat to the icons, The Beatles, with a rousing rendition of "Don't Let Me Down".
Combining P.O.D.'s signature sound with a sincere ode to one of their most formative musical influences, the take on the classic serves well in being respectful while remaining true to the band's energized sound. Guitarist Marcos Curiel spoke about the decision to put hands on such a revered track.
"As cliché as it may sound, we've always admired The Beatles from the very beginning of our songwriting journey," says Curiel. "Their melodies, the hooks, and fearless experimentation inspired us to craft our own take on the classic 'Don't Let Me Down,' with nothing but the utmost respect. Thank you for helping lay the foundation of what we all know today as rock 'n' roll, pop, and metal."
Due to begin their fall run October 1st in Virginia Beach, VA, P.O.D. will be on the road through November 15th where the tour wraps with a finale in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Curiel also weighed in on the band's outlook with regards to performing live and connecting with fans after all these years. "Touring is a gift, a blessing to share P.O.D.'s music live with the world. Absolutely nothing compares to the energy of a crowd feeling and vibing every note. We're ecstatic to join an amazing lineup that embodies the true essence of rock 'n' roll fusing the familiar with the new — a real evolution. We are proud to be part of it. Let's jam, let's sing, let's rock.."
