Trekking in support of last year's late release of the revisited 2014 full length, Foundations of Burden, Pallbearer has commenced their North American tour to celebrate the Redux version. Performing the album in full, the band has delivered reenergized, renditions of the album on the live run to universal acclaim.
With the success of the first stretch if live dates, Pallbearer have now expanded the tour with the news of additional dates in celebration of Foundations of Burden. In addition to the added dates, Pallbearer have also announced that heavy goth purveyors Blood Vulture will take on select dates on the run.
The band shared, "We’re very pleased to announce we’re adding even more dates to our spring campaign across the east + midwest (with a couple stops in Canada as well!) - this time in May/June with support from Blood Vulture.
Our winter dates were a blast and we’ve enjoyed having the chance to talk with so many of you and experience Foundations of Burden together out on the road thus far this year. We’re looking forward to these shows immensely!"
The refreshed version of Foundations of Burden gave Pallbearer the opportunity to revisit an album that not only proved pivotal for the band, but has remained. celebrated since. Bassist/vocalist Joesph D. Rowland spoke about the decision to dissect and rebuild their masterwork. “During the writing and preparation for 'Foundations,' everything was ephemeral and we were practically feral. We had no real practice space, we barely had a single working computer between the four of us. Our demos of the record consisted of something barely discernible from white noise. Nevertheless, we knew we were working towards building a set of songs we were deeply enthusiastic about.
Rowland explained how even though the album was considered an accomplishment upon its initial release, there was a sense of unfinished business. “Since the time that we finally committed the original version of 'Foundations' to print, we knew it would be a sonic space we would eventually revisit. Its form did not unfold according to the original version as the numerous file corruptions, delays, and exhausted studio budget compounded into a final feverish push to finish the mix. We were relieved to get those massive and difficult mixes turned into finished songs just in time, but not without a nagging thought; we had to sacrifice much of the nuance we had spent so much time crafting.”
The Foundation of Burden North American tour resumes later this month with support from funeral grind specialists, KNOLL. Tickets for the added dates are due on sale March 20th See a complete list of dates and cities below. Get tickets - HERE
