Doom metal practitioners Pallbearer have announced the final stretch of their Foundations of Burden tour. Touching down with sets in exas, California, Pacific Northwest, the midwest and more, the run will serve as the last remaining shows of the band's current cycle, revisiting the magnitude of the band's 2014 classic, reconstructed with a redux version released in 2025.
The band issued the following addressing the significance of retooled version of the album, the reception to the project and the remaining dates of the run.
"We can’t overstate how great it’s been to revisit this record and share the experience of it with so many people over the past year. It’s always been a hugely impactful record for us, and letting it live and breathe over the course of the year has been such a joyful opportunity. We plan for these shows to be the final North American tour dates for the album so if you’ve been hoping for an chance to dwell within Foundations’ sonics, don’t miss out! We are also completely thrilled to have two captivating and masterful bands in Slowhole and Ordh along for these dates!”
Bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland spoke previously about the band's vision to always revisit Foundations of Burden.
“Since the time that we finally committed the original version of 'Foundations' to print, we knew it would be a sonic space we would eventually revisit. Its form did not unfold according to the original version as the numerous file corruptions, delays, and exhausted studio budget compounded into a final feverish push to finish the mix. We were relieved to get those massive and difficult mixes turned into finished songs just in time, but not without a nagging thought; we had to sacrifice much of the nuance we had spent so much time crafting.”
The final dates of the Foundations of Burden tour will begin August 20th in Shreveport, LA and conclude September 25th in Lexington, KY. The run will also feature support from Slowhole and Ordh on select dates.
