Modern rock collective Pop Evil have announced their hotly-anticipated new album, What Remains. The full length is due out March 21st via MNRK and follows the strides achieved with the band's 2023 LP, Skeletons

The announcement affirms the band's next chapter - one that began last summer when Pop Evil first previewed their next project with the release of the album's title track. In November, Pop Evil would again strike hard with the release of a towering second single in the hard-hitting "Deathwalk" - which served to amp the anticipation of the pending news.

Paired with the eventual news of the next album, Pop Evil have confirmed What Remains with the unveiling of a third single in the anthemic, "Wishful Thinking". Anchored by a convincing, emotive performance from frontman Leigh Kakaty, the latest showing from the album frames the band's potent meld of arena-ready rock in what has the makings of their heaviest submission yet.

The vocalist spoke about his tenure in the band and the peaks and valleys that have made his experience such a trip. "There are a lot of issues and things that I've dealt with in this journey of Pop Evil that I've buried for a long time."

Kakaty continued, "Studying never interested me. Neither did getting a regular job. A knee injury wrecked my shot at playing sports. Music was all I wanted to do from that moment, and I didn't give myself a backup plan. Pop Evil gave me a purpose, and a reason to get up every day. It became a crusade."

In taking stock of his time in Pop Evil, the singer and songwriter also spoke to the heft of the new record and how the stylistic shift was something organic for the band. "We set out to push boundaries. Metal has always been a part of our DNA, but we've never made it such a focal point before. A lot of writing on this record has been about listening to what my soul is saying and letting the songs find their own path, rather than chasing a sound that might fit in on the radio. I think you can really hear the mood and emotion of the album's themes in the music."
